Formed in 1990, Forest Management was initially started to specialise in forest consultancy, establishment, tending, harvesting and marketing in Canterbury, the West Coast and Otago Southland. With forest estate in Hawkes Bay and Canterbury, the company now also owns harvesting equipment and port infrastructure in three South Island ports. Forest Management North Island FMNI has been operating in the southern North Island since 2003.
With offices in Napier, Whanganui and on the Kapiti Coast, the company specialises in harvesting services and trading logs. With cloud based reporting and invoicing systems our clients know exactly where everything stands. We also have accurate systems for pre harvest inventory and for carbon measurement, providing a perspective for both the big picture and the small details. In all our work our focus is as much about growing relationships as it is growing forests.

Forest Management Group has been heavily involved in working with the Emissions Trading Manipulate EST since forestry became a participant in 2008. The carbon market holds massive potential for forest owners as further industries are needed to offset their emissions. Operational management of harvesting operations incorporates a powerful focus on health safety and environmental planning, road and traffic management.
In short, Carbon offers a fresh and potentially lucrative income stream for forest owners. I know there is sufficient of luck involved with the currency but I have to say that everything went smoothly given that which could be controlled.
