The motel had and has a great reputation and we were keen on the challenge to carry this on for the new owners Daryl and Karen Martin.
Daryl and Karen were ex Dairy Farmers from Darfield and love Picton and the Sounds spending a lot of time here on their boat. I was born here in Picton and have lived over seas for about 10 years however returned to Picton in 1998. My working back ground is construction and when I left the industry I had worked my way to a project management position specialising in building wineries. I enjoy hunting, fishing and diving along with my son and we take advantage of the area we live in as much as possible regarding this.
My wife Marie also comes from Picton and had a back ground in the shell fish industry. She enjoys travelling and hiking the local tracks as well as shopping, she has become an expert in local wine tasting. We trust you will have a comfortable and enjoyable stay here at the Gateway Motel Picton. Take your time to enjoy the scenery in the Marlborough Sounds and of course the local sea food it provides.
